Our Expectations

In the Expectations Agreement, you will find:

Both DMs and players agree that the content they produce for Theater of Dice is the property of Theater of Dice.

All session recordings (audio, video, transcripts) are the property of Theater of Dice LLC. Commissioned art paid for by Theater of Dice is owned by the company. Your original characters and ideas remain yours.

Players and DMs will show up to the games and meetings they have committed to be at.

We require that recorded content must adhere to PG-13 guidelines. Players must be 18+ for internet safety.

While upholding the First Amendment, we do not allow hate speech or portrayals of or depictions intending to be humorous about abuse.

Theater of Dice is a home for adventurers and we provide a safe and welcoming space, to the best of our ability. If the Players or DMs feel uncomfortable at any point, they can bring their concerns to our team.

A $10/month subscription (Patreon) is required to access the server as a player, with scholarships available.

Compensation for participation is not offered at this point but may be considered in the future.
Both parties agree to keep Theater of Dice's private information (e.g., creative ideas, finances) confidential.
Legal disputes will follow U.S. and state law and be handled through arbitration.

Scholarship Program

Theater of Dice may have scholarships available

When we started Theater of Dice, we recognized that even the low fee we charge might be out of reach for some potential players.

To ensure everyone has access, we created a scholarship program. We want players to feel comfortable saying, "I just can’t swing that" without hesitation. As we integrated scholarships into our system, it became clear that our clients valued this initiative as well.

Thanks to the support of our patrons and community, we’ve incorporated it into our higher Patreon tiers to help maintain accessibility. Our scholarship plan starts with a six-month term, allowing players to experience a full campaign arc before deciding whether they need to continue the scholarship or if it should go to another player in need.

If you would like to apply for a scholarship, just answer the related questions in our expectations agreement. If you are approved, we will refund your first payment on Patreon and admit you to our scholarship program.

DM Recruiting

Theater of Dice is seeking awesome, diversity-affirming Dungeon Masters to join our crew. This is ideal for DMs who love storytelling, collaboration, and inclusive community building but prefer to skip the HR side of TTRPGs.

You choose the schedule and the VTT—whether it’s Roll20, Owlbear, Foundry, or another platform you’re comfortable with. Campaigns should maintain a PG-13 or lower tone. Whether you're running a module or crafting your own homebrew, we’re excited to support your vision.

We take care of the rest. The services we provide include managing the Discord server, coordinating players, handling admin and scheduling, and providing Zoom Pro for longer sessions.

We also offer training on various VTT platforms and grant access to TOD maps, and our D&D Beyond library for those with a Master Tier subscription.

Sessions are recorded and may be shared on platforms like YouTube or used in community content. Our DM team is collaborative, supportive, and always ready to share ideas and resources.

DMs are also allowed to join up to two campaigns for free, as well as playing in any open one shots.
